MCX Gold slides 0.63% on rupee strength

WHAT HAPPENED MCX Gold fell to 155298 INR/10g at 16:31 IST, extending a -0.63% pullback from the previous close. The decline continues the downtrend established since the 164604 INR/10g peak at 18:59 IST yesterday. USD/INR weakened to 95.22 INR (-0.41%), reducing dollar-hedging pressure on rupee-denominated bullion. Silver tracked lower at 236150 INR/kg (-0.23%), while crude posted strength at 8201 INR/bbl (+2.72%).

WHAT IT MEANS Gold's move below 155300 signals sustained momentum loss after yesterday's -1.55% collapse to 160362 INR/10g. The rupee's relative stability today undercuts the currency-weakness narrative that had supported overnight positions. Cross-asset weakness in precious metals persists despite crude's +2.72% jump, suggesting demand erosion rather than dollar flow reversals alone.

WHAT TO WATCH Monitor the 155000 INR/10g support level. A break below signals accelerating downside toward 153000 INR/10g. Conversely, a recovery above 156000 INR/10g would confirm stabilization and test resistance near 158000 INR/10g.
