1. Today's Session Recap

Wednesday's MCX session saw broad-based selling pressure across the metals and energy complex. Silver led the decline at -3.86%, settling at ₹225,260/kg, as COMEX silver's sharp drawdown transmitted directly into domestic pricing. Natural Gas followed at -3.58%, closing at ₹298.9/mmBtu, with the Henry Hub reference contract under sustained pressure. Copper dropped -2.72%, Gold shed -1.13%, and Crude Oil was the relative outperformer at -0.33%. No single commodity held ground through the session.

2. How MCX Closed vs. the Day's Range

Silver closed at ₹225,260 — within ₹19 of the session low of ₹225,241, against a high of ₹228,800. That is a close at the extreme lower end of a ₹3,559 range — historically associated with sessions where sellers maintained control into the final hour. Natural Gas closed at ₹298.9 against a high of ₹310.3 and a low of ₹298.1 — again pinned to the session floor, a ₹12 range resolved firmly to the downside.

3. What COMEX Is Doing Now

The US session is not diverging from MCX — it is deepening the same move. COMEX Silver trades at $61.66/oz, down -5.91% — extending MCX's losses further. COMEX Gold is at $4,128.30, down -1.28%. WTI Crude sits at $73.36/bbl, down -1.95% — notable widening from MCX Crude's -0.33% close. The US session is directionally confirming today's MCX weakness across the complex.

4. Overnight Watch List

Three levels carry weight at tomorrow's open:

  • MCX Silver ₹225,241 — today's session low; in past episodes, closes this near a range floor have preceded gap-direction opens aligned with overnight COMEX settlement.
  • MCX NatGas ₹295 — the 5-day range support floor; Henry Hub at $3.20 remains below its 20-day reference.
  • USD/INR ₹94.73 — any overnight move above ₹95 compresses the COMEX-to-MCX price translation for metals.

Overnight data to monitor: US EIA crude inventories (scheduled release), Fed speaker commentary, and COMEX silver settlement price.

Overnight watch: COMEX Silver settlement — currently -5.91% at $61.66/oz, the single most important input for tomorrow's MCX Silver open.
